Continuing on with my blog series on common aliments that Massage or Reflexology can help with is D for Diabetes.
This is a condition that is caused by lack of insulin produced by the body and can be treated externally by daily injections, diet and/or medication.
In a Refexology session, the reflexologist will start off with a general treatment to help restore balance and then focus on the Pituitary gland reflex (on the big toes) – to help control hormonal activity and the Pancreas reflex as this where the insulin is produced (down the middle of left foot). Associated reflexes are also the Adrenal glands and the Kidneys reflexes.
Like any medical condition, Reflexology is never used for Diabetes without the doctors permission first of all. (Or a consent form signed).
It is recommended that you get at least 4-6 Reflexology sessions to allow the body to respond to the treatments.
Stay holistic 🙂
