Are you finding it hard to fall asleep? Or are you finding that you are waking up in the middle of the night and not able to get back to sleep?
Below are some of the tips that I find help my clients that come to me with sleeping issues.
There is a good reason why babies have a bed time routine and this is to get the body used to sleep time and not sleep time. I always recommend to my clients to develop and use the same bed time routine every night as this will help your body and brain to switch off from the day’s activities and get ready for some ‘quite’ time.
Avoid any heavy meals at least 3 hours before bed time as this will give your digestive system enough time to process the food and avoid any nasty indigestion or heartburn.
Try and avoid using the phone/tablet in the bedroom (or at least in the bed) as this will keep your mind active when its meant to be winding down. Instead replace it with a non-work related book or better still take to pen and paper and write down your thoughts, your woes and plans for the next day. This will help your brain “park” any issues for the day and allow it to shut down for the night.
However, if you have tried all of these and none of them are working. I would suggest trying a few Reflexology sessions. As you know (from previous blogs) one of Reflexology’s main benefits is relaxation.
As a Reflexologist I work on any of the systems that may be causing your body issues. Then I will focus on the nervous system as this will help induce relaxation and thus slow the body’s reactions to anything that may be causing it to be stressed and help with any sleeping issues. In a session, I will pay particular attention on the head, brain, spine and solar plexus reflexes on the foot.
So if sleep is something that you have been having problems with lately and would like to try out a Reflexology session to see the benefits that it can have for you, please don’t hesitate to contact me on 089 467 2647 so that we can arrange an appointment.
Stay holistic 🙂
Ps. Please don’t keep me a secret! My business grows by referral, please tell a friend, relative or colleague who would benefits from my service.
